Carbon Monoxide Update
In the 2009 Legislative Session, House Bill 3450 was enacted into law requiring the installation of carbon monoxide alarms in all residences with a carbon monoxide source at the time of sale starting on April 1, 2011. While this new law doesn’t impact residential sales until next year, the first effective date mandating carbon monoxide detectors will take place on July 1, 2010, for new residential rental agreements.
